Ardmore - Traditional Cask

Colour is a darker bronze than our previous drams this evening, no doubt impact from the added quarter cask ageing. Nose of burnt sugar and butter. Glazed ham. Flavours are something of a let-down after the fantastic nose. Much less dessert and more savoury flavour. Some orange rind and over-steeped tea.

This is my first dram from Ardmore, looking forward to it... Latter, I added a drop of water which slightly lightened the peat and brought out the floral and fruit notes. Very complex, superb!
