OK, so here we have a rarity, an oddity, a one-of-a-kind. Or maybe just something uncommon. 'Tis but a 1970's bottle of Ancestor, that Dewar's dram of yore, that happened to be available for a friend and myself to taste. Dewar's 12 Year Old The Ancestor Double Aged

NOSE: having just opened the bottle I got marzipan, slight peat, toffee and vanilla. With a drop of water peat drowns altogether, leaving vanilla and creamy fruits. TASTE: somewhat reminds me of Glenfarclas 10 with its syrupy barley malt, very distant smoke. FINISH: short and sweet with a hint of cola.
