Slightly disappointing nose - maybe I was expecting a lot. There is orange and burnt ginger in there with a tickle of roasted nuts but it leaves you wanting for more. The texture is like silken honey cascading down your palate accompanied by a warm apple & orange stew with a stuffing of nutmeg and ginger. The finish is disappointingly abrupt....

Glenfiddich Pure Malt Special Reserve

Tried with two fingers and a cube of ice. Medium-bodied with a slight sweetness and very low peat. Bit of floral notes but very hot even with the ice. Good everyday whisky but no where near the quality of their 18 year.

A personal favourite. The mix of new and old using the solera system really makes this a unique dram. Little too much caramel E150a but it could be worse.
