As with the other Glengoyne standard distillery expressions I’ve sampled the aroma is the best part and the less said about the finish the better. It’s worth buying this malt just for the aroma though. Very hot on the palate not surprisingly given the strength so I’d recommend a little water. The first smell that came to mind was play-doh--needless to say, it was not that enticing. The taste provides hints of licorice and mint that helps overcome the initial doughy experience, but falls flat very quickly. Not my favorite dram.
