Nose: one of the more balanced Karuizawa without the matchstick notes that they sometimes display. Lots of spicy Christmas cake and café latte. Café noir biscuits. Some mint. Sour orange liqueur. It also shows a slightly forestial side. Mouth: pretty dense and slightly alcoholic. Notes of raisins and a little rubber. Cloves and other herbs....

sample from a friend Nose: Ah yes, this is the stuff. Rich, typical Karuizawa. Plums, dates, dense millionare bread, cherries (bitter and sour), and varnished leather belt. Molasses and pressed orange zest, figs marinading in aged cognac. Some ginger. The sherry here is just a light touch of smoke and cocoa. Turkish coffee grounds leftover....

This is a blend from sherry butt & bourbon casks #6405, 4973, 8184, 6437, ranging from 1981-1984. I may be mistaken, but I think that this is the first multi-vintage expression under the Noh label (or with the Noh images, perhaps more accurately). Nose: Prune, fig, date, syrup. This baby is heavy and fruit. Also a bit of the elegant salty game...
