Let’s see…give me some sherry with sherry and an extra gallop of…hmm….sherry. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not bad but not great either…it is what it is…a sherry bomb with maybe some vanilla and little else. Just to one dimensional for me and not my thing, much better whisk(e)ys I feel at this price point. But if you like sherry..then by all means go...

Nose: very very smooth. Aromatic, but still a lot maltier and granier than I expected. Oranges. Honeyed. Slightly exotic with a very soft sherry influence. Mouth: again very round, silky and malty. Second entry scotch within the 1824 Series (from the year the distillery was established), I had this one some time ago, back in Feb 2016, at a now defunct joint named La Chimenea (The Fireplace) in Madrid. They served it terribly (check the pic) in some ice-loaded gin glass, and even though I took most off the tasting might have been flawed...

This past Christmas I received the Macallan 12, 15, and 18, all in the Fine Oak range, from a very generous friend. The notes of each were taken in direct comparison of one another in one sitting.
