Macallan Travel Series 1950s

I have mixed feelings about this whisky. On the one side it's a real easy dram to drink, going down with remarkable smoothness and making you feel good about it. It carries that distinctive Speyside flavour which goes well for some speysides and wrong for others, but as usual Macallan pulls it off flawlessly. But at the same time it lacks oomph....

Macallan 18 Year Old Sherry Oak

Similar to the 12 Year, but much more rich with added spice and the fresh grass in the finish lingers a lot longer. Pleasant, but still a little tame for me. It is better than the 12 Year, but not $100 better : )
